Back it up…Back it up!!!

We’d like to say “back it up” was a dance routine but in this case it was not so.  This could have easily been a horror story but alas we were prepared as should all professional photographers.

This weekend was a double header…a wedding in Annapolis, MD and another on Sunday in Baltimore, MD.  All was well on Saturday when by pure chance two of our flashes ceased to function!   We had backup equipment to cover the loss of the two flashes but had we not…well…it makes us shiver.

This is a testament to the importance of backup equipment that all professional wedding photographers should take into account.  When it comes to weddings, we are not afforded “do overs” so making sure a plan is in place when equipment malfunctions is of paramount importance.

Our clients not only pay us for our talent and expertise but they are paying for “peace of mind”.

Yvette & Alex

The wedding ceremony was at Our Lady Queen of Poland and St. Maximillian Kolbe Church in Silver Spring, MD.  The reception was held at a Hilton Hotel nearby.   The ballroom at the hotel was extravagantly detailed!  There was a vintage feel in the halls leading up to the ballroom…..this meshed well with the theme of the night as the DJ played swing and big band music for most of the reception.   The dance floor was perpetually packed…it was great!  Everyone was having a blast celebrating the new bond between Alex and Yvette!  It was a pleasure photographing their special day!

Great pictures! I love how you display these. Love the 4 and 4 sequence on the top.

Kayleigh & Nathaniel – Hollow Creek Golf Club

The entrance to the reception hall immediately caught our attention.   The light flowing in from the window panes adds a unique accent to the image.  As soon as we had a moment we brought her to the entrance and took a few shots.  Here are the color and B/W versions.
