It has become a yearly ritual that we look forward to. The Cherry Blossom festival! The blooming of the Cherry Blossoms in DC are a sight one should experience at least once in their lifetime. Three thousand of the Cherry Blossom trees were given as a gift to the District of Columbia by Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo Japan in 1912. In 1965, First Lady Claudia Alta Johnson accepted another 3800 trees. Since 1935, the Cherry Blossom festival has been held in DC to commemorate the friendship between the U.S. and Japan.
As with every year, we are delighted to present some of the images from our e-sessions conducted near the Jefferson Memorial, right in the midst of the Cherry Blossom festival and among the beautiful blooming trees. The weather at first was uncooperative, but these “troopers” kept the smiles going and we ended up with some great images. We thank the couples below for braving the weather!
